Pet care experience
My pet care giving experience comes from boarding dogs at my Boulder home for 5+ years with a beautiful, grassy backyard enclosed by a 7′ fence. I created a “Club Med” type experience for my pets, and they got my one-on-one care for their entire stay. Hence the “Canine Club Mark” business name. (read Rover reviews here)
I now live in Longmont, Colorado and no longer board dogs. I am available for house sitting, dog walks and drop in visits for your dogs and cats in Longmont/Boulder area (35-mile radius around Longmont).
My original plan was to pet sit/board for a year or so, figure out the best breed/size for me and find a great rescue dog to adopt. I’ve ended up loving being a pet sitter/boarder, caring for a variety of dogs and appreciating the value of the service that that I provide to pet owners in Boulder County. Presently, my life situation is not ready for investing the love, time and energy required to be a great pet owner. So, I treat every pet as one of my own.
Background:
Our family home was like a zoo growing up. Lots of cats, dogs, hamster, guinea pigs, etc. We took care of our friends’ pets often and I’ve always had good pet mojo. I enjoy caring for different breeds of dogs. I do not have a pet of my own currently. Dog sitting/walking gives me an opportunity to play by creeks and lakes to help get my East coast water fix. The social aspect of meeting other dog owners and my neighbors is very rewarding for me. I am a self-employed ecommerce/marketing consultant and work from the home, so I have lots of flexibility.
Highlights of my Pet care includes:
- Lots of daily photos and videos of your pet via text (or What’s App if you are traveling out of US).
- Consistent communications with you as needed.
- Daily walks of any length 0 2X/day for house sitting
- Bringing your dog(s) to local water stashes; they get a hand towel dried “spa treatment” before entering my vehicle/home.
- Treating my dog(s) like they are my own; socialize when appropriate; keep distance from other dogs when necessary; always loved and cared for.
- Treating sparingly – I only provide treats for performance and am sparing with them. Once we connect, it’s like their staying at their grandparents’ home.
- Pet Sitter Insurance (similar to Rover)
I am Basic Life Support certified (includes CPR) and have cared for lots of senior and challenging dogs and cats. My pets trust me on 1st meeting and do really well as evidenced by my positive reviews (below). I would be happy to care for dog in your home.

Dog Walking: $25 – $40 / walk / dog (depending on length, frequency and travel; 2nd dog at 50% off / day)
Drop in visits: $35 – $55 / day

5 stars truly isn’t enough. We’ve had some terrible luck with dog sitters in the past, and we trusted Mark to watch our dog while we were gone for a two week vacation and it was absolutely perfect. He sent us multiple updates a day, which included details about their daily activities (walks, playing in the backyard, and lots of swimming in the creek!), and also updates about how our dog was doing (he’s an anxious dog in general so these updates were very much appreciated!). Not only were we kept updated about our dog, but Mark reassured us multiple times how much he loved our dog and how much fun they were having together. It truly felt like our dog had a vacation of his own! We especially appreciated the fact that Mark only watches one dog at a time, so the full attention was on our dogs needs. We felt so good about Mark that halfway through our vacation, we already booked him again for a future stay. Cannot recommend Mark enough!
